Going to see Ty Segall tonight at Thalia Hall. Every time I see him he plays bigger and bigger rooms, which is pretty great.

Are those the Beatles?
The Philips Pavilion, built in 1958 for the Brussels World Fair. The building was designed specifically for the performance of works by Iannis Xenakis and Edgar Varese and was designed in collaboration with them and Le Corbusier. Varese’s “Poeme Electronique” premiered here, and used over 100 speakers to shuttle blocks of sound around the space.
A friend of a friend is Neutral Milk Hotel’s driver and they surprised me with this poster that they signed to me as a gift. Pretty amazed that I have this.
I won tickets to see Spoon at a small club show in Chicago today. Just got back. Pretty cool to see them with only about 50 other people considering they are playing the Chicago Theater tomorrow.
They played a short set of songs from the new album with a few older tunes as an encore, “Don’t You Evah,” and “Jonathan Fisk.”
