Yup. I graduated from Fredonia and lived in Dunkirk right around the corner from that, that’s how I recognized the photo. Dave is a cool dude, I’ve met him a few times. He actually lives in Cassadega, but yes, very very close.

Went to see a band last week, and something made me really mad. The band I went to see was touring down the West Coast for their first time. They just released their first LP and are amazingly talented musicians and all around nice dudes with great songs.
Anyway, there was an opening band, and they were local. They brought in a decent crowd of about 20-30 friends and family. After they finished playing EVERYONE left. Band. Friends. Family. All gone. So the band that they opened for played to an audience of me, one other dude, and two people sitting in the back that probably didn’t know a show was going to be going on that night.
The point of this story is: If you are playing in a band, and you are opening, or even if you are the main act, stay for the whole show! Be there to be supportive. That’s why you are the supporting act!
It’s pretty much the biggest dick move in the world to just play and leave. Get in there, stand up front and get excited for the band. Welcome them to your town!
Absolutely essential viewing. Lee Ranaldo guitar demonstration at Other Music in NYC this past October. He gives some fantastic insights into guitar playing and sound creation.
